And the wrestle is history
This pic is from the Museum of Wigan Life Facebook Page:
It was given the caption ‘Wrestlers at Springfield Park’ … what do you think?

NEWTOWN LICENSEE HELD FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE
JACK BROWN, present licensee of a Newtown hotel, poses proudly with the Andrew Challenge Cup in this third of the series of pictures of former Wigan wrestling stars. [picture inc. on right of article]
ADORNS SNUG
The cup at present adorns the snug in Mr. Brown's hotel. He won it from another Wigan wrestler Jimmie Sicily, at Audenshaw, in 1914.
In order to retain the trophy as his own property the holder had to defeat all challengers for an 18 months period.
Sicily had only six weeks of that period left when Brown wrestled the cup from him and made it his own property after 18 months without defeat.
WORLD CHAMPION
A former featherweight wrestling champion of the world, Brown defeated all the best men in the 9st. 4lb. class from 1910 to 1919.
He learned his wrestling under the expert tuition of Tommy Cue, Billy Charnock and Thomas Rose, at Blackpool.

Re: And the wrestle is history
Springfield Park did often hold wrestling bouts well into the 1930s: springfieldparkmemorial.weebly.com:

Does anyone think it might actually be at Central Park?

Maybe it isn't jo anne. The pic on your 3.45 post doesn't seem to have the stands

Re: And the wrestle is history
I’m sure I looked online and found a site giving a date for the photo and the location as Central Park, but it’s evading me now, Lolly.
An interesting article about the Carrolls - Past Forward, Issue 22 (Summer 1999):
