Re: Bowton 2019 – 2020 Season
Hi Bravo, you’re absolutely right, silly money really.
Bolton and Bury’s financial problems were all about figures of £4 to £7 million pounds,
which is back pocket change for the Premiership clubs.
I feel sorry for Bury, they’ve been treated pretty harshly by the EFL,
I hope their legal challenge proves to be successful.

I think you’re probably right Bravo, but they (Bury) have a law firm on the case,
so whether they can overturn the decision with some legal jiggery pokery it remains to be seen.

Re: Bowton 2019 – 2020 Season
Bolton Wanderers have appointed Keith Hill as the club's new Manager.
The Bolton born former Rochdale and Barnsley boss will be joined in the dugout by fellow Boltonian David Flitcroft who will take the role of the club's Assistant Manager.
Let’s hope these new appointments will steady the club’s fortunes, which of late have been dire, with just one point from 5 matches.
The new manager has signed nine players prior to the transfer deadline on Monday, seems he means business.
Stoke winger Thibaud Verlinden, 20.
Nottingham Forest midfielder Bridcutt, 30.
Northampton left-back Joe Bunney, 25.
Sheffield United centre-back Jake Wright, 33.
Ipswich right-back Josh Emmanuel, 33.
Doncaster's Ali Crawford, 28.
Daryl Murphy, 36.
Chris O'Grady, 33.
Will Buckley, 29.
These are much needed senior quality players.
When we played Coventry at home (where we got a much needed 0 – 0 draw) we fielded a side with an average age of just 19, they looked like schoolkids.
Fingers crossed for a brighter future.

Bravo, it was actually minus 12 points deduction at the start of the season.
They're currently on Minus 11 points, having drawn one match and lost four matches,
a really terrible start to the season.
I'm hoping this new management team can turn things around.
They were playing in the EFL Cup tonight against Bradford who are a League Two side,
they drew 1 - 1 and then lost 4 - 3 on penalties.
To be honest, they don't need the distractions of cup matches.

Mr R , not knowing the in's and out's of it all , but having watched Bolton at Burnden many times in my youth , I do have an interest in the future of this great club . Has "Big Stan" , offered help , and if not , why .As you have pointed out , the sums involved , in footballing terms , are a months wages to some , or 8,242,867 weeks of my pension . ( or maybe longer ).

Re: Bowton 2019 – 2020 Season
Hiya Mr N.
They appear to have ‘turned a corner’ at the moment that is to say they are on the ascendancy.
The new owners will have paid off their debts and hopefully the players will get paid regular wages.
We have a new manager Keith Hill, he’s an ex Barnsley and Rochdale manager, so he’s used to the lower divisions, and we have an new assistant manager Dave Flitcroft, ex Mansfield Town manager.
They look to be a good team, they’ve already signed 9 new players, mostly older players.
Bolton had a 1 – 1 draw in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night, that was the last match managed by Jimmy Philips who has been acting as caretaker manager.
He fielded a side of youngsters again, average age of team around 19 years.
Thankfully we don’t have a match this weekend which will give the new management team time to get the players playing together.
I have a real positive feeling for the future, BUT, they are so far behind the other teams points wise, it’s going to be an uphill task.

Sorry for late reply, I’ve been unable to log into Wigan Peers for over 24 hours, only just sorted it out.
I will behaving a few scoops later LOL.
I was getting a little concerned with the goalless draw, especially when Murphy missed a 90th minute penalty, but he came good and scored in the 93rd minute.
I’ll post a match report later tonight.
It’s good to be out of a negative points situation.
I think it’s possible for us to avoid relegation, but it’s huge task, we are 12 points behind the club fourth from bottom.
We’ve had three wins on the bounce, so fingers crossed.

Kick off 3-00pm
Bolton 1 - 0 MK Dons
Bolton’s third straight win on the bounce, Keith Hill seems to have really turned Bolton’s fortunes round.
MK Dons had a player sent off in the 66th minute.
Having had a 90th minute penalty saved, Daryl Murphy made amends with a 93rd minute late goal.
Some of Keith Hill’s quotes today:-
"The feeling in the changing room is amazing and it's a scoreboard victory today, not a performance victory".
"We're still trying to climb a mountain, and by the way it's a massive mountain”.
"People seem to have forgotten that - maybe I've created too much of an expectation that we should beat every team in League One now”.
"Right here right now we are in the mire, still don't forget that - we are in the mire”.
