Fly Sprays

Why don't they seem to work any more. I've been spraying one for the last few days, all it does is fly round as if it's drunk. I cant get it with a rolled up newspaper.

We've had an invasion of midges,so I put a glass of wine on the kitchen windowsill..so far it's enticed half a dozen and they've drowned..as for flies, I got some fly papers,but they're not interested.

That's just what I'm using but the blighter is still flying around half drunk after half a can
