Warning: Salmonella..
I can only assume that this is true. Please beware.
Which?
SALMONELLA ALERT: Some eggs sold at Sainsbury’s, Aldi, and Asda could contain salmonella bacteria http://whi.ch/EggsAlert
Only eggs with the batch number 1UK15270 are affected.
According to the Food Standards Authority, the affected eggs are safe to eat if cooked thoroughly, meaning you should cook the eggs until the whites and yolks are no longer runny.

I bought some of this a few weeks ago. Good for baking scrambling and omelettes.

I eat Clarence Court Burford Brown eggs, best eggs ever.
Not cheap, £2-50 for half a dozen from Tesco.
Tesco Finest Free Range Chestnut Maran Eggs are also very good,
£1-90 for a half dozen.

Re: Warning: Salmonella..
When I lived in a remote cottage in the Highlands, a neighbour gave me some chicks. They produced the best eggs ever. Rich golden yolks. I fed them good quality feed but they also had the run of the land around all day, eating the vegetation and insects, etc, freely.
Re: Warning: Salmonella..
I'll look out for those CC Old Cotswold Lolly.
I'm like you, I'd rather pay a bit or even a lot more for some decent eggs.

“I'm not sure if you still shop at sainsb0”
We’ve stopped shopping at Sainsies Lolly,
The big store in Leigh is a lovely space in which to shop, but it is dreadfully mismanaged.
They have supply problems, your favourite products wll go missing for weeks on end.
At one point last year there was virtually no fresh products like fruit and veg and salads for about seven weeks, I complained to one of the managers and he gave me a long and convoluted and inexplicable tale of inventory control.
Trolleys also a problem, there will be non outside the store and so you have walk a hundred metres to the nearest trolley park.
We've shopped a Sainsies for decades but never again.

I'll get my eggs from a farm shop or similar. Not keen on supermarket eggs/meat.
