Spare a thought for your dog

This is how hot the tarmac/ground was on Saturday.  I know it's in Devon, but the ground gets hot here as well.  Skip the doggy walk when its hot. Imagine yourself walking barefoot

Our Gizzy doesn't like his walkies at all but...he's been sick this morning so I've brought the fan down from upstairs..just in case it's the heat that's getting to him.

I saw some cooling mats for dogs in Aldi Maureen. But its sods law if you bought one it would be the end of the heatwave

you could try freezing one or two hot water bottles and wrapping them in gizzys dog blanket if he has one.

Rock Sulphur?

My Mam used to give her dog rock sulphur.

Lolly he spends every minute he can on my knee which doesn't help.

Stick a frozen hot water bottle down your pants

That would cool me down wouldn't it.

See..it's even made me double click..lol

I bought a bundle of 10 face cloths a few weeks ago. I stick a couple in the freezer and give myself a cool down with one of those.

A few years ago our ex next door neighbour told his Son not to take their German shepherd out in the then heatwave..this poor dog had the most fur that I'd ever seen on a dog..she collapsed on the way back home and died on the spot..it was terrible.

A couple knocked on my door on Saturday day wanting to fill their dogs water bottle up from my hosepipe. When I casually asked how far they were walking they said around 8 miles to home. The poor dog l looked shattered

Some folk don't deserve a dog..or any pet,they have no idea.
