Anyone else having trouble accessing Wiganworld?

It's not you MMB, it seems to have been down all day.

Yes most of the day as you say RMJ. Must be something major for it to be so long out of action. At a guess I'd say problems with the server

Apologies, the website is down.
Server died this morning, total loss of data. May take me a while to get it back up and running from a backup.

It's hopeless going on communicate..its all arguing and spiteful ,I don't know if any females go there..I'm only interested in Album really, the subject lately has been acting in school plays and pantos.

It's not changed then.

I still venture there occasionally, Maureen, filtering out all the bickering as best I can. It usually leaves a few posts of interest.

Hope Brian can get the site online again, it hosts a wealth of info on Wigan and its history.

I've tried jo anne, one or two ( I think you'll know who I mean) keep been so sarcastic with Tom Plumb,every time he types anything one particular one is there ready to jump on him,it's annoying because the main culprit never puts anything of his own on, he just waits for Tom to come on.i think Nana Jackie only goes on to defend Tom.

"The Wigan World server was kaput and when they began the process of installing a new server that went kaput. The server company hadn’t backed up the data. Fortunately Brian always backed up the data. He’s now bought a new server" It will be next week when its up and running again.

He should restore it but without the forum. Let it do what it does best. A local history site.

Either that or scrap the member database and make people sign up again anew - with a much simpler and properly moderated forum.
