Elections
Local election in full swing here. Today is voting day, and so far, today only, I've had 4 leaflets for the same candidate pushed through my letterbox. What a waste of paper. Does the right hand not know what the left hand is doing? I wouldn't care so much if the candidate didn't look as though they hadn't left school yet.

Re: Elections
This being politics, I would put things another way. The left knows what the right is doing, and the right knows what the left is doing. The trouble is, the left doesnt know what the left is doing, and the right doesnt know what the right is doing!

Dont forget that he only ruled out May 2nd. That still leaves four possible dates available in May. Even so, right now, I would expect that it will be November.

Re: Elections
Rishi is probably thinking that people will be better off come November, but I dont think the Conservatives will win the next election. But who knows,

Re: Elections
I think that with him announcing that there will not be an election May, then that means that it will be an October election, but as regards Labour winning the next general election, I was watching an analyst yesterday who was saying that Theresa May was 20 points ahead in the polls, just like Labour are now, and she only just scraped into power with a minority government in 2017 and look what a mess that caused, and going back to 1992 the polls suggested that Neil Kinnock leading the Labour Party was a sure thing to win that general election, but John Major won it with a majority, so sometimes the polls get it right and sometimes they get it wrong and today in Russia they are having a general election, but it does not matter what the polls say or even how people vote, because Putin has decided who is going to win it

Well those that would have given Putin a run for his money are either in jail or dead

I think that the General Election will be in June when we have the longest daylight hours. This makes it easier for workers to vote in daylight hours up to 10pm.

Rishi will string it out as long as he can IMO. Makes no difference to me as I vote by post
