What date would this picture be. Are those helicopters above?

If they are helicopters it will be a recent Boxing day as the people in the scene are in fancy dress

There's a tram and to the right what looks like an early 1900s fire engine. I still think the things in the sky are helicopters

Were there helicopters in early 1900s flying around Wigan?

Methinks the ‘helicopters’ are perhaps overhead electrical doings for the trams.

Looks like a painting done from an old photo. Or a recoloured old photo.

Definitely tram wires not helicopters.

They are tramline doings, look at any old picture of tram wires.
One does look like a helicopter, another looks like two spiders fighting!

I think them 'helicopters' is brids!
