Re: Norley Hall
Lolly I went on your google earth tour , and on up Lamberhead Road . I knew they had knocked down the houses we knew as the White Houses , but why have they not re-built some more . With starting to build on green belt areas ,why not there again . Or is the ground unsuitable .?

Re: Norley Hall
There was a lot of spare land that wasn't built on. The Green, and land near Saddleback Crescent to name just two places. Maybe the reason was because of subsidence. I think the White houses or at least some of them had been subject to subsidence, so were demolished.

Ah, I remember sitting with my mates at the edge of the field on a very hot summer day..just watching...it was so peaceful back then. We didn't have a care in the world.

The good old days on Norley. Jam butties for breakfast, dinner and tea. No money for out else.

Re: Norley Hall
I think it is, nordic.
Do you remember the Leather family in the top left corner of Troutbeck Rise. I think Derek Leather was the son, about my age back then?
Evelyn Leather was the mother, a good friend of my mother?
Grand times, What?

There's a good photograph of St Cuthberts 1960 on Wigan World if anyone's interested.
