Begum
Shamima Begum should be allowed back into the UK to fight the government's decision to remove her citizenship, the Court of Appeal has ruled.
Ms Begum, now 20, was one of three schoolgirls who left London to join the Islamic State group in Syria in 2015.
Her citizenship was revoked by the Home Office on security grounds after she was found in a refugee camp in 2019.
The Court of Appeal said she had been denied a fair hearing because she could not make her case from the camp.
The Home Office said the decision was "very disappointing" and it would "apply for permission to appeal".

Who's next? Judges are accused of 'opening floodgates' to MORE ISIS brides and up to 150 terrorists after Home Office LOSES bombshell High Court case to keep Shamima Begum out of UK
Shamima Begum fled UK with three friends aged 15 to join ISIS after flight to Istanbul and bus through Turkey
She married a Dutch jihadi and they had three children - all of whom have died of sickness or malnutrition
Begum stripped of her British citizenship because of her Bangladeshi heritage wouldn't leave her stateless
But 20-year-old's legal team, led by civil rights group Liberty, says decision is illegal under international law
Today Court of Appeal found her favour after tribunal found against her - and said she should return to the UK

Re: Begum
She's only being allowed in to fight her case in court, one hopes she will be locked up during the case and after whatever the result is

Re: Begum
That begs the question will she be held in prison while the hearing goes ahead, or will her solicitor claim it's not safe for her in view of the covid pandemic.

Re: Begum
She appears to be a very cold young woman with three children, all dead. She sewed vests onto the suicide bombers therefore she was an accessory to murder...our soldiers. She was " Nor fazed" by the sight of peoples heads in the street.
What sweetheart??? I do not believe that she is the kind of person that we want in Britain. If she can be sent to Bangladesh where she has citizenship then so be it. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...............
(EDIT:Â I have added two angry Smilies to the gallery. They are down at positions 70 and 71)

Re: Begum
She seemed to show no remorse in interviews that she has given.
"It was thought Ms Begum had Bangladeshi citizenship through her mother.
But the ministry of foreign affairs said the government was "deeply concerned" she had been "erroneously identified" as a Bangladeshi national.
In a statement, it said Ms Begum had never applied for dual nationality with Bangladesh and had never visited the country"

Sadiq Khan slams Home Office appeal to stop Shamima Begum returning to UK because she should 'face justice in criminal courts'
Mayor says the Home Office is trying to 'sub-contract justice to another country'
He said: 'If she (Begum) has committed a criminal offence I'm sure the jury will find her guilty, and justice will be served'
Court of Appeal ruled that Shamima Begum should return to the UK for appeal

Re: Begum
People like her know how to use our system to their own benefit.
I believe she will get her justice eventually. She cannot escape her actions of the past.

Begum's newborn son died in March 2019, in a Syrian refugee camp, an official said.
The baby, who was less than three weeks old, died of pneumonia, according to a medical certificate.
She had previously told reporters that she lost two other children to malnutrition and disease.

Re: Begum
Shamima Begum today broke cover after the Supreme Court ruled she cannot return to the UK to pursue an appeal against the removal of her British citizenship.
The jihadi bride was seen crying and looking angry in her tent before she marched through al-Roj refugee camp in Syria.
The 21-year-old was wearing Western clothes - a pair of sunglasses, a dark jacket, leggings and white trainers - but refused to comment on the news she will have to fight her case from abroad.

Re: Begum
In the film, Begum drops the defiant tone that saw her initially declare she 'doesn't regret' joining the terror group and claims she was forced to say those things for fear that other women in her camp might kill her otherwise.
Do we believe her?

Shamima Begum apologises to UK public and says she'd 'rather die' than return to IS
Speaking to ITV's Good Morning Britain from a Syrian camp where she is being detained, the 22-year-old said she was groomed by IS. However, she added: “There is no justification for killing people in the name of God. I apologise. I’m sorry”.
Ms Begum left the UK aged 15 when she and two other east London schoolgirls travelled to Syria to join the IS in February 2015.
