Re: General Election?
Jeremy Corbyn says the UK "needs" a general election, despite warnings from Tony Blair that such a vote would be "an elephant trap" for Labour.
The ex-PM warned that Boris Johnson could win such a vote as "some may fear a Corbyn premiership more" than a no-deal Brexit.
But Mr Corbyn said a vote "would give the people a choice between two very different directions for the country".
"An election is the democratic way forward," he added

Re: General Election?
I am not sure what the heck is going on anymore. I,also, have been in front of the telly tonight and will have to wait until tomorrow to find out who is playing the best games....Bloomin' Parliament....bah....
Re: General Election?
MP’s have voted to take control of Parliament.
They are expected to bring forward a bill tomorrow that would force PM Boris Johnson to delay Brexit.
If that bill is passed the Boris Johnson will call for a general election.
The other options are they could vote for is to back a new deal or vote for a no-deal exit.
Hope that clears things up.

Re: General Election?
In the last general election , we voted this government in. We had a referendum , we voted to leave the EU . If another general election is called , then it will be a case , if your MP has ignored YOUR vote . Simple replace them with someone who will respect YOUR vote .
IMO , I hope we have a general election , Boris wins , takes us out of the EU , as he is the only person I see , who has the balls to stand up for the British people's wishes . Is there an alternative .The people have spoken , act on our wishes .....or go . Too simple , I think not .

Boris Johnson faces a new battle in the Commons after his first vote as PM saw him lose to rebel Tories and opposition MPs who object to a no-deal Brexit.
The Commons voted 328 to 301 to take control of the agenda, allowing them to bring a bill requesting a Brexit delay.
The PM is to call for a general election if he is forced to request an extension to the 31 October deadline.
MPs will now vote on the Brexit delay bill. If it passes, the vote on whether to hold an election will follow.
But unless two thirds of MPs back the move for an election it cannot be called - which looks unlikely, given Labour's opposition.

Re: General Election?
I think that Boris should go to the EEC and ask for an extension then when it has to be voted for by the EEC member states the UK should veto it, problem solved

“Roy Hodgson has just been made Prime Minister. He has a fantastic record of leaving Europe swiftly.”
Re: General Election?
Work and Pensions Secretary Amber Rudd has quit the cabinet and the Conservatives, dealing a fresh setback to Boris Johnson's government.
Ms Rudd hit out at the prime minister over his decision to kick out 21 Tory MPs and ban them from standing for the party at a general election - attacking the move as an "act of political vandalism".
The rebels had the Tory whip removed after they voted last Tuesday with the Opposition in their attempts to stop the UK leaving the European Union without a deal on 31 October.

Re: General Election?
If you support ( which ever ) political party , then it is assumed that you agree with most of , if not all of the principals , it's standards and the logic of that party.
If you apply to be a member then you are quite positive of that party .
If you ask the people to support you , and you work for that party , then it is a vocation , and a way of life .
Most of these MP's , on both sides are traitors to the party , they supposedly support , and to the people who they supposedly represent , and whom they have betrayed .
If you don't like the way your club is run , and you are a member , alter it from within . Walking away from it will not solve the problem . If you can't be arsed , then walk away . These traitors have no principals , their only concern is for themselves .
Whilst Mrs May was in office all we heard from the opposition was we want a general election , no confidence in the government etc; etc; etc; They have been offered the chance of a general election , and have voted to reject it , by the opposition , The SNP , and some of their own MP's .......Why ........Because a lot of them , maybe most , will be receiving their P 45 .
The people of this country have always known that the vast majority of MP's have always had their own interests at heart , NOT the voters . But now the people now realise it .And I sincerely hope , that which ever way you choose to vote , you vote with your feet .
It's not rocket science being an MP , there are thousands of capable people out with more than enough skills to be an MP........Rant over .
