Re: I never knew that
Looking at BBC news I noticed that Scottish news was printed in "Alba" So I went a googling.
Alba | historical kingdom, Scotland | Britannica
Alba, the kingdom formed by the union of the Picts and Scots under Kenneth I MacAlpin in 843. Their territory, ranging from modern Argyll and Bute to Caithness, across much of southern and central Scotland, was one of the few areas in the British Isles to withstand the invasions of the Vikings. The ancient link with Ireland (from which the Celtic Scots had emigrated) was broken as a cordon of Scandinavian settlements were established in the Western Isles and Ireland. With southern England also conquered by the Norsemen and Danes, Alba was left isolated. With the withdrawal of the Norsemen, England, under the English, then launched invasions against Alba but were ultimately repelled by Malcolm II at the Battle of Carham (1016/18). When Malcolm’s grandson and successor Duncan I came to the throne in 1034, he united Alba with Strathclyde, Cumbria, and Lothian. Thereafter, the name Alba began to fade away; and every king, at least in retrospect, was normally styled “king of Scots.” The first extant recorded use was by Duncan II, the “Rex Scotie,” in 1094.

Re: I never knew that
There’s this 80’s song called “I Don’t Like Mondays”. I don’t know who wrote it, but the rumor is that the song was based on a girl. She was a younger girl, I think in High School. She was quiet and was very shy. She didn’t have very many friends. One Monday she went to school with a gun and shot several of her teachers and fellow students. When the cops asked her why she did it she said “I don’t like Mondays”. And that’s what the song was based on.

I've never see this sign
Drivers may be confused by a blank circular sign with a red border and unless you're a motorist who recently passed your theory test you might need a reminder.
It simply means 'no vehicles' and is often seen with a supplementary sign below it to explain exclusions.

Tuxedo Stan, the cat who ran for mayor in Halifax Nova Scotia
Stan was a true extrovert, a real smooth operator with keen political instincts and the kind of good looks and personality that made him hard to resist.
If Stan wanted something, say a stuffed animal to gnaw on or a leg to nuzzle against or a warm lap to crawl into, he simply went for it. And if he liked something, say a good hard belly rub or a tasty treat, he would purr his appreciation, in ever increasing volume, the unspoken message being: Don’t stop. Please give me more.
And, of course, that is what Stan did. He gave the people more, because Stan was not just any Halifax cat; he was the Halifax cat known worldwide as Tuxedo Stan, the handsome kitty who ran, although he never technically registered since cats can’t actually register on the ballot, for mayor in the city’s October, 2012, election.

Re: I never knew that
The movement of falling cats is used as part of an astronaut’s training.
The way cats try to correct themselves when falling was studied and analyzed by NASA scientists.
They then used their findings as a means to teach falling astronauts how to correct their movements in zero gravity.

If oil or grease is spilled onto fabric,do not immerse in water as this seals it in..cover it with talcum powder rub in with fingertips then brush..continue doing this until grease mark is gone.
