The huge headgear sheave / pulley from Bickershaw Colliery No.4 Pit, Leigh. Mounted outside Parsons Walk College, Wigan town centre, formerly the Mining & Technical College. The shaft was 787 yards deep, used for coal winding

I was there a few weeks ago and even saw a game bird - a green and pheasant land.
