When I get the bus to Wigan I come out of that side entry and I'm almost sure those cobbles are still there..I'll have a good toot next time...again,a very interesting shot..I'm putting it on my phone.

What a great photo,Tom Whalleys pet shop used to be

Thanks lolly,I bought my first Persian kitten off Tom Whalley,he wasn't the kindest man though,he used to walk around town with a puma,but kept it in a cellar under the shop,that's no life for a big cat,he wouldn't be allowed to do that nowadays.

Two of the five pubs that used to be in Millgate, the Wool Pack and far left the Albion...
I realise and accept that Wigan was scruffy, dirty and untidy in the fifties as I grew up, but with some foresight the powers that be could have organised a clean up, refurbishment, etc, etc and we would have had a wonderful town today...
or maybe I am just reminiscing...ahhh...
