No and I still wear them, but cant walk far. If I'm attending a garden party the heels dig in, good for aerating the lawn but I'm left stuck till I'm rescued. Embarassed

I have totally forgotten about Segs.

I believe that they were hard lumps on the hands due to hard manual work. Today they are called callouses.

If so, then it IS a Wiganism.
