Soup maker

I think my soup maker is about to blow up.  Its on the blend cycle and is making the most horrendous noise.  Could the motor be on it's way out.  I've not had it or used it very often.  Made soups last winter, decided to get it out to make some soup with veg that I needed to use up. I need a pair of ear defenders.

Is it vibrating and wandering around the kitchen?

Can you smell burning electrics

No just this horrendous grinding, really loud. I've switched it off, I thought it was going to blow up. No burning smell.

Check the blades are still intact, if they are, empty it into a pan clean it out and try it with just water

If the blades are broken throw the soup away unless you can digest stainless steel, and see if you can get spares

Blades are ok I'll try just running it with water. Will let you know.I now have to blend by hand. gadgets ey.Who'd have em

It could be that the gearbox is buggered if its the same with water

10 times louder than this.  It's not a Morphy Richards though
