I had an email that on the surface looked as though it had been sent by Amazon,  telling me that some my account details  were wrong

I binned it without opening it. I've got call safe n my phone, i was getting umpteen calls a day involving different scams, so I only accept calls from those I know. My phone has never been so

Is Call Safe just for TalkTalk customers, Lolly? It sounds good.

We’ve got a relatively new phone number & were left alone for a while, but the scam calls are starting to pick up.

I think other providers have a similar system.

I've just had an email from "Larissa" asking me not to send her my pictures on whatsapp.  Full of red mad faces.

I have no idea who Larissa is let alone whatsapp

Is she less than 2 miles away

She could nip round and ask me if she was

I had a landline phone call yesterday and today saying "Thank you for ordering from Amazon you will be billed for £ 380..I just put the phone down,if I could just meet them face to face I'd be locked away.
They make me sick.

You know Fred,I know that everyone says the same,but some old person getting this call could quite easily have a heart attack,that's what really annoys me. grrrrr.

Exactly, Mo. There are lots of lovely people out there who are not savvy to these horrible scammers.

Due to the viral nature of how information spreads across on the internet, scammers seek to take advantage of people by offering free giveaways of bitcoin or other digital currencies in exchange for sending a small amount to register, or by providing some personal information. When you see this on a website or social network, it's best to immediately report the content as fraudulent, so that others don't fall victim.

Online fraudsters are promising people free Christmas hampers in an attempt to exploit their personal details.

Sophisticated scammers are sending out emails, claiming people have won festive items such as hampers to obtain their names and home addresses.

Once they have access, they can then call or text you pretending to be a reputable company with your personal information to hand.

Fraudsters are exploiting security flaws to take out O2 phone contracts using stolen identities —leaving innocent families on the hook for hefty bills.

Customers have also seen their credit scores plummet because the telecoms giant is taking weeks or even months to investigate their complaints.

Last month, Money Mail published a letter from a 76-year-old woman who was chased by the mobile provider for arrears on an iPhone and iPad she had never bought.
