Working from the East or right-hand side we have ‘I’ from the clue, a two letter verb for journey and the last letter of donkey.


2)  He, a stoic, a smashing Prime Minister (9)   _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
A anagram (smashing) of HE A STOIC A gives the title accorded to an Irish Prime Minister
 

3)  Elderly wife stuck in vehicle, creating conflict (4, 3)   C _ _ _        W _ _
Elderly or aged and the genealogical abbreviation for wife are together inserted in (stuck in) 3 letter a road vehicle


4)  Eastender and ‘is missus flirt (9)   P __ _ _ _ _ _ R
The first name of one of the Mitchell brothers from Eastenders followed by the AND from the clue and how a Cockney might describe his wife.


5)  Understood female in depth (8 )   F _ _ _ _ _ _ D
The abbreviation for female followed by a phrase (2,4) meaning IN THE HOUSE,  and the abbreviation for depth.
