An anagram (upset) of A BELGIAN POTTER.


3)  Particle absorbed by some or other in the huming body. (7)   A _ _ _ _ _ _
A three letter word meaning some or other surrounds a basic physics particle.

 
4)  Catch ruffian grabbing muzzle of revolver, it's placed nearby to fire (6, 3)   H _ _ _ _ _        R _ _
Catch using your ear is followed by a violent ruffian containing (grabbing) the end letter of (muzzle of) REVOLVER


5)  This could start you off on the slippery slope (3, 4)   S _ _         _ _ _ _
