Duck Eggs

My brekkie tomorrow.  on the left Does anyone else like duck eggs?

The Mrs can only eat duck eggs, hen eggs make her ill.

I know somebody that had a duck lay an egg in their garden, the y put in in the fridge, but his missis bought an incubator and took it out of the fridge two days later and it hatched and they brought it up and the duck noe visits almost every day

 Now you have me thinking, will I be boiling a duckling tomorrow.

Why is it that  there are never any double yolk duck eggs?

Your'e OK lolly, as long as they are not free range....with a Drake anywhere in the area! Seriously, I love duck eggs, as did my Mum and Dad (Duck eggs didn't like my Dad though) . I always remember my Mum telling me never to buy them from anywhere the Ducks were free to access open water, eg. streams or ponds containing fish, because the fishy diet could pass to the eggs. I have since only bought them from places where they are dry fed and roam on grass.

I love duck eggs but didn't know all that information above.

I keep a couple of ducks and chickens in my garden for eggs.We have had drakes at times which were good 'guard dogs'.We have also had double yolked duck eggs.My daughter prefers the duckeggs for baking and the neighbours are appreciative when we have some eggs to spare.

Is there a season for duck eggs? I cant seem to find any.

I buy half a doz duck eggs from my local farm shop when I need. Lately the shells have been hard to crack. Any Idea what would the reason would be
