We live next to a woods and you would think we would get loads of wild birds, especially the small ones, but no.
We have a bird feeder with seed, nuts and fat ball feeders on it, do the little b*ggers feed on it NO !!!!!.
But if we put peanuts or bread or anything in the open feeding tray then the bl**dy pigeons and magpies are down in a second to scoop it up !!!!!!

I stopped putting nuts out because of a Jay that removed the nuts far quicker than a family of the local Squirrels could ever manage

I understand your frustration NM, it’s so annoying when you want to look after birds and creatures that matter and you end up feeding egg stealers, Crow family and rats with wings !!!!!!
