His father might want him to, but as for the rest of the family, I think they wouldn't want him back.

The pair of them are only happy if they have a microphone in their hands..and she just doesn't realise how skinny them legs are..she has no waist,her belts are under her bust..I can't stomach them at all....Harry likes hearing his own voice...she looks for the camera everywhere she goes...can you tell I don't like them LOL.

Hopeful me says it may help heal the rift with his family and maybe ease him back into full Royal duties.
Cynical me says he has to earn a living now being of independent means only, and maybe his Royal duties will be paid for from the Royal purse.

As for Mo not liking them, I can understand that, I always think that Harry had a good military service record when he was younger and it’s only since Meghan came along that he broke away from his family and went to live abroad, so she has been the disruptive influence.

I think there is method in his, and Markle's madness. If his father doesn't allow him to do this, he can always tell the world that he tried. It probably wont be allowed,[who knows] so they come up smelling of roses, and it makes the royal family look bad.

Harry had an albeit brief meeting with his Father, so maybe things have been said to heal rifts.
I think the King would want him to help the other Royals with his duties.
As you say Lolly, if he is refused Royal duties then they will look really bad.

It's been published in several newspapers that he 'will have to surrender Sussex title'

I think they would be unwilling to lose their ‘Sussex’ titles, they use them in the States to cash in and trade on their name.

What happened to Mountbatten Winsor sur name?

Prince Philip adopted the family name of Mountbatten when he became a naturalised British subject and renounced his Greek and Danish Royal title in 1947.

The Royal Family's traditional surname is Windsor, but if they ever need one for official purposes, they can use Mountbatten-Windsor.
However, most Royal family members tend to assume that everyone will know who they are anyway, so they just go by their title and first name!

Archie and Lilibet Diana  had the name Mountbatten Winsor, but it's now been changed to Sussex. Does that mean they are now known Prince Archie /Princess Lilibet with no surname It's all very confusing

It is confusing, but apparently according to Mr Google, the following applies :-

Instead of being referred to as Mountbatten-Windsors, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's children are now known as Prince Archie Sussex and Princess Lilibet Sussex,

Those children are going to grow up so confused.

They can rearrange the following words to form a well known phrase or saying...

If it makes him happy to become an American Citizen, then go for it I say. America are welcome to him
