Re: Linsey Hoyle
He’s normally a very steady and dependable sort, seems his break with convention by allowing the vote on a Labour motion for an "immediate humanitarian ceasefire" has caused bother.
He said he acted "with the right intentions".
I don’t think he’ll lose his job, this is a very emotive subject and tempers were running high.

Sir Lindsay issued an apology after a day of acrimony but continues to face calls to resign.
More than 30 MPs have signed a parliamentary motion tabled by a Tory MP declaring no confidence in the Speaker.
Commons Leader Penny Mordaunt launched a bitter attack on Sir Lindsay, claiming he had “hijacked” the debate and “undermined the confidence” of the House in its long-standing rules.

'I would never do to Speaker what Labour have done to him' - Mordaunt
Leader of the House of Commons Penny Mordaunt is back up.
She asks all members not to do the Commons "a further disservice by suggesting that the shameful events that took place yesterday were anything other than party politics".
Addressing her shadow counterpart Lucy Powell directly, Mordaunt says: "If she cannot rise above narrow and immediate needs of her weak and fickle leader ... perhaps she might like to reflect on the damage her party has done to the office of the Speaker".
"I would never have done to him what the Labour party have done to him," she adds.

Re: Linsey Hoyle
I find Lindsay Hoyle to be a fair and trustworthy speaker who supports all MPs. I was watching the shenanigans live at the time and was disgusted with the antics of a lot of the MPs.
People around the country and abroad must think that they are watching children's TV when they tune into this rabble.
No wonder lots of people don't bother to vote in General Elections.
