Re: State Pension up today
I was livid when I saw this on the news, they have given us pensioners a good rise of 8.5% which is around £11,000 pa, but they have frozen the tax allowance, the amount you can earn before paying tax which stays at £12,570 pa, and that will stay frozen till the 2025/2026 tax year.
This means that more and more of us owdies will pay a lot more tax.
Another reason I will not be voting Tory this year !!!!!

I think you’re right Lolly, they are not going to get rid of a tax earner are they?
I had been thinking of whether to vote Labour in the upcoming elections and although I’m quite impressed with Kier Starmer, he’s a good orator, I’m reminded of the Comrade Corbyn era and maybe the return of union power, no sireeee !!!

Who do I vote for?
Certainly not a party that has Raynor or others of her ilk

I won't be voting Conservative or Labour as they are both a waste of space. My vote will go to one of the minority parties.

I think the tax allowances are frozen until 2028.
