“Daylight robbery” - when someone is charged a price that is much too high.
“Daylight robbery” is thought to have originated from the window tax as it was described by some as a “tax on light”, blocking up windows was literally daylight robbery.

"Cack-handed" - a task performed in an awkward or uncomfortable fashion, usually clumsily, would be described as "cack-handed."

Devil's Advocate - someone who pretends, in an argument or discussion, to be against an idea or plan that a lot of people support, in order to make people discuss and consider it in more detail.
Example - “I don't really believe all that - I was just playing devil's advocate.”

It seems to have various descriptions Admin, I suppose you could make it describe anything you choose about anyone that you choose.
Your definition certainly sounds right.
I recall it as “don’t be soft, you’re a right Mary Ellen”.
Some others:-
Mary Ellen, Liverpool (historical), a working-class woman, typically dressed in a shawl, carrying one or more babies, and working as a market trader.
Mary Ellen, usually a pretty amazing person.
She is gorgeous and loves to make people laugh.
Any guy would be lucky to have her.

“When elephants fight, it’s the grass that gets trampled” - African proverb, meaning that the weak get hurt in conflicts between the powerful.
On a serious note, this could be the Israeli Gaza war all over.
