This is a Bridge Too Far, or so it became known on the A49 Link Road build. Â It had diversion signs on it advising walkers to use the towpath on the Scotsman side of the canal. Â But of course local braindeads would throw them in said canal. Â This meant some walkers would remain on the Pearsons side of the canal and eventually come to the bridge build to find the towpath missing. Â They would often pull down the Heras Fencing and enter the construction site, when caught and escorted back to the towpath and told to cross at Moss Bridge the bottom lip would go and plaintively complain... you guessed it...
"But... but that's too far..."
