Re: Pemberton pics...
Admin would that have been " The Queens". emporium , where young girls used to take me on the back row and try and kiss me . ( but I'd run home to my mum ) ( I was only 27 at the time ).( slow developer ).

Re: Pemberton pics...
Lolly if you walked down Brooke Lane to the old cottages at the bottom . ( I remember that the front garden didn't have a fence , it was made up of slabs of slate held together with metal plates ). if you turned left down that path with the stream and the railway line on your right , you eventually came to the tunnel the man mentioned in the article , which let the stream go under the railway line . A short distance passed that was a level crossing with sleepers down for walking.. Turning right and crossing over the line the path led towards Pony Dick bridge , with Summersale Colliery on the left and the stream on the right . We then used to cross the stream , and enter "Long Wall" through a hole where the wall had fell over .Going back to the level crossing , if you turned left there , then you went over the " Wimpey" ( Wimp), and over Leapold Street and between Triangle Valve factory buildings , over a little railway track that joined the two factory buildings .
That's how I remember it ........but ????
